Redmi Note 9 to Launch Today: Here’s How to Watch Live Stream

The Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Note 9 Pro Max were launched in India last month but there was no news around the Note 9. Well, Xiaomi is now finally launching the Redmi Note 9 globally via an online event. The company usually announces devices separately for China and other parts of the globe, but it seems that due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, it is going for a global launch event. Reports also say that Xiaomi will also announce the Mi Note 10 Lite, a more toned-down version of the Mi Note 10.

The launch event is scheduled to begin at 8PM UTC (5.30 PM IST). The announcements will be live-streamed on Xiaomi’s YouTube and other social accounts. Apart from the Note 9, the event might also include the announcement of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max for global markets apart from India and China.

You can catch all the announcements via the live stream embedded below:

Redmi Note 9

The Redmi Note 9 is naturally going to be a toned-down version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Leaks suggest that the handset will come with a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) display. It is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, paired with up to 4GB RAM. We are expecting that the Indian version will come with a Snapdragon processor.

The camera is said to include a 48-megapixel main sensor while the battery could be similar to the Note 9 Pro series rated at 5,020mAh. As usual, it will run on the company’s MIUI 11 ROM based on Android 10. There is also a rumour that the Redmi Note 9 will launch in China as the Redmi 10X with pricing starting at CNY 1,499 (Rs 16,000 approx).

Mi Note 10 Lite

The Mi Note 10 Lite is also expected to make an appearance at today’s event. The phone is going to be a more affordable version of the Mi Note 10. It will have a vertical quad-camera setup at the back and a waterdrop-style notch display. The quad-camera setup is likely to include a high-resolution camera, a wide-angle camera, a depth sensor, and a telephoto camera. The phone is expected to come with a Snapdragon 730G SoC, and a 5,260mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It will be offered in Black, White, and Blue colour options.

There is no confirmation whether the Mi Note 10 Lite will be launched in India or not.

Redmi Note 9 Launch in Global Markets Scheduled for April 30: Here's What to Expect

Xiaomi has announced that it will be launching the Redmi Note 9 Series on April 30. The Chinese OEM announced on Twitter that the Redmi Note 9 series will be unveiled at 8PM GMT through an online event, which will be live-streamed across its social media platforms. The invite on Twitter also throws a hint that apart from launching the Redmi Note 9, the company might also launch “other great products” on April 30, which hints at the unveiling of accessories.

Redmi Note 9 Series Details

In March 2020, Xiaomi had unveiled the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India. However, there are no global versions of these devices. There are also rumours that Xiaomi could also launch Redmi 10X, a mid-range device, in certain markets.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, coupled with 4GB and 6GB of RAM. The smartphone features a 6.67-inch full HD+ display, along with a 48-megapixel quad rear camera. It features a 16-megapixel front camera placed in a central waterdrop notch, and apart from running on Android 10, the smartphone also features a 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series is widely regarded as one of the most popular budget to mid-range smartphone series, particularly in two of the largest smartphone markets in the world — India and China. Going forward, it remains to be seen how Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series of 2020 fares, taking the Covid-19 pandemic and the global economic crisis into consideration.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro to Feature Snapdragon 720G Processor, 5,020mAh Battery

Xiaomi India is soon going to launch its new Redmi Note 9 series in India. While the company has teased a few features including a quad-camera setup, along with powerful performance and fast battery charging. We are expecting the company to launch the Note 9 and the Note 9 Pro at the scheduled online event on March 12.

There have been various leaks and rumours about the upcoming handsets, and one of them comes from popular tipster Ishan Agarwal. He suggests that the Note 9 Pro will feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a punch-hole cutout and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 720G chipset which was announced earlier this year, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

The company has already confirmed the quad-camera setup at the back which could feature a 48-megapixel main sensor along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a depth camera. The batter will be a large 5,020mAh unit, along with support for 18W fast charging. The handset is expected to come in three colours- Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Black.

These specifications make the Note 9 Pro a slightly better proposition compared to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Of course, the latter comes with a higher resolution primary sensor, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it is better.
