Black Shark 3, Black Shark 3 Pro Gaming Smartphones With Snapdragon 865, 65W Charging Launched

Black Shark has announced two new gaming smartphones for the masses, and they seem to be packing a lot of features. The new Black Shark 3 and the 3 Pro are the latest products from the Xiaomi backed company right off the bat they look ridiculous (in a good way of course). Both the phones are loaded with the new Snapdragon 865 chipsets, offer 5G, AMOLED panels with 90Hz refresh rate, triple cameras at the back and some pins at the back to support magnetic charging.

The more premium Black Shark 3 Pro comes with a massive 7.1-inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling rate. The display resolution is 3120×1440, which means sharper visuals. Instead of the air triggers, the handset now brings physical pop-up shoulder buttons. These 21-millimeter-wide buttons raise 1.5 millimeters from the main body of the phone and the company claims it can withstand over 3,00,000 lifts and over one million clicks.

The smartphone also comes with a 5,000mAh battery which supports 65W fast charging. This means it can go from 0 to 100% in just 38 minutes. The pins at the back support a proprietory magnetic charger offering 18W fast charging. This can be useful if you need to charge the phone while gaming. The handset will be offered in 8GB RAM + 256GB of storage at 4,699 CNY(Rs 47,000 approx) while the higher 12GB RAM with the same amount of storage is priced at 4,999 CNY (Rs 50,000 approx).

The non-pro variant comes with a smaller 6.67-inch AMOLED with a 2400×1080 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and the same 270Hz touch sampling rate. This one comes with a smaller 4,720mAh battery that supports the same 65W fast charging and you get the same pins for magnetic charging at the back. This one is available in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The rest of the features are pretty much the same including the design, the processor and so on. Sadly the physical pop-up shoulder buttons are not available on the non-pro version. Pricing starts at 3,499 CNY (Rs 35,000 approx) going up to 3,999 CNY (Rs 40,000 approx).

The smartphones also feature a triple camera setup at the back which includes a 64-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a five-megapixel depth-sensing camera. At the front, there is a 20-megapixel sensor, and you also get a 3.5mm headphone jack, something which was missing on the predecessor.

The Black Shark 3 will be offered in Lightning Black, Armor Gray, and Star Silver colour options. It will start selling in China from March 6. The Black Shark 3 Pro will be available in Phantom Black and Armor Gray colours starting March 17. Global launch date for the handsets is yet to be confirmed.

OnePlus fans have a reason to cheer as the Chinese smartphone maker may offer wireless charging on its upcoming OnePlus 8 series smartphones. OnePlus recently became a part of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), which works with the purpose of developing worldwide compatibility for all wireless chargers and wireless power sources. It is widely assumed that the Chinese smartphone maker would not have joined the consortium without actually planning to add wireless charging to its smartphones. However, the company has not made any announcements as to whether the OnePlus 8 series will have the wireless charging feature.

The WPC website has added OnePlus’s name to its members’ list. With the inclusion of its name, OnePlus has joined the likes of Samsung, LG, Apple, Oppo, HMD Global, Huawei, and Asus. It is believed that OnePlus has managed to keep the cost of its phones low by staying away from including wireless charging support in its smartphones. The Chinese smartphone maker has, however, often spoken of the prowess of its wired fast charging technology to avoid including wireless charging.

The official launch date of OnePlus 8 series is not known, but several leaks have given a hint as to what it could offer. According to reports, the OnePlus 8 Pro will be equipped with a Li-Po battery. It will feature the company’s Fluid AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels. It is also expected to come with the new Snapdragon 865 chipset.

Apple iPhone 9, Wireless Charging Mat, iPad Pro, High-End Headphones, Coming in First Half of 2020

Apple could announce a new iPhone, updated iPad Pro and MacBooks, a new wireless charger and a new pair of Bluetooth headphones by early 2020.

Apple is said to working on launching a range of new products in the first half of 2020, including a pair of high-end headphones. The tech giant may unveil the headphones, tag trackers, updated versions of iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air, The Verge reported citing a research note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

It is rumoured that Apple could release a 4.7-inch LCD equipped iPhone and a new wireless charger. The 4.7-inch LCD iPhone is expected to have the same design as the iPhone 8 with updated, iPhone 11-caliber specifications. This will be similar to what happened with the original iPhone SE, which borrowed the iPhone 5 design and was updated with the improved camera and processor from the iPhone 6S.

The Apple AirTags will be equipped with a Tile-like Bluetooth tracker that would use ultra wideband (UWB), which can help track down lost items. One of the most talked-about products is a wireless charging mat with a new, smaller wireless charger. Apple, while announcing the iPhone X in September 2017, had announced the AirPower wireless charger and had said that it could charge an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods all at once using a multiple-coil design. The company had also said the custom, software-based features would allow for an iPhone to show charge levels for all charging devices. However, the product was eventually canceled.

Apple is also said to be working on new high-end Bluetooth headphones. However, there is no certainty as to whether the headphones will be based on the same over-ear noise-canceling models or an entirely new device. Apple has been quite successful with its AirPods range and this could be a nice addition to the category.

Xiaomi seems to be preparing its new flagship range, the Mi 10. A recent leak suggests that the top of the line variant of the handset, which is expected to be the Mi 10 Pro 5G, will come with 65W fast charging. The information comes from a Weibo tipster who has uploaded alleged photos of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G.

The photos show the device as well as the packaging of the handset, both of which seem legitemate. One of the photos show the power adapter for the phone which mentions 65W. Of this turns out to be true, then the Mi 10 Pro 5G will be the second device after the Oppo Reno Ace to offer such fast charging speeds.

The photos also confirm some key features of the upcoming device including a dual-curved display with a punch-hole cut on the top left corner. There is also a quad rear camera setup with a 108-megapixel primary sensor, a speaker grille at the top and bottom and support for Hi Res Audio,

Xiaomi had earlier confirmed that the Mi 10 will come with the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset during the Snapdragon Tech Summit last month. So it is safe to assume that handset will come with the new flagship chipset, unless Xiaomi plans to treat the Mi 10 Pro 5G as a separate device from the Mi 10 series.
